An at best ridiculously pungent pile of poo of a decision by the officials denied a solid performance by Zimbabwe at least a point from their match against Egypt in the Africa Women’s Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
After having gone down to a poor goal, the Mighty Warriors sauntered to the other end and got a perfectly good goal off the boot of Felistas Muzongondi, only for it to be chalked off by the ref and her assistant. To say it was an offending decision is to speak kindly of it as it was only the Burundi ref and her assistant who thought that it was not a legitimate goal. The weird thing is, it wasn’t even close!
Mighty Warriors fans were not impressed:
We have been robbed !!!!!! HOW THE F##K IS THAT NOT A GOAL ?????? #MightyWarriors

That said the Mighty Warriors had had chances to beat the Egyptians, the weakest team in the group but were as profligate as their opponents when presented with opportunities to get the ball in the back of the net.
Now they have to take on Cameroon who have won both of their ties in the group on Friday with the odds stacked against them.
The girls hearts will be breaking along with the whole nation make no bones about that. Zimbabwe will however will be proud of their show of character especially after being treated so poorly by the national association.
