Date set for ‘Battle of Zimbabwe’

The Zimbabwe Castle Lager Premier Soccer League has announced the date for the ‘Battle of Zimbabwe’.

This pits Dynamos against Highlanders, for what the is the biggest grudge match of the country, where the traditional rivals take on each other.

The original date was scrapped after the national government co-opted the sides into playing an Independence Day match at the 11th hour.

Highlanders won that match on penalties.

And the date?

Thursday 25 May 2023 at Barbourfields Stadium in Bulawayo.

Herentals College and Hwange FC will duke it out on the same date.
