Wigan Athletic strengthened their grip on top of the log as they demolished Lincoln City 3-1 in an English League One match on Saturday.
Captained by Zimbabwe international Tendayi Darikwa, the latics dominated their tie.
Callum Lang scored the first and third goals, with Will Keane netting the other. Anthony Scully had equalised for the Imps.
Their win means they are top of the log on 86 points, three ahead of MK Dons, who drew 1-1 with AFC Wimbledon.
The advantage for Darikwa’s side is that they have two games in hand.
In the same league, Ipswich Town for whom almost-Zimbabwe international Macauley Bonne cam on as an 84th-minute substitution drew 1-1 at Shrewsbury.
Plymouth Argyle, who have Zimbabwe international Brandon Galloway on their books remained in the playoff spaces, drawing 0-0 with Burton.
