Darikwa completes emotional Forest exit, joins Wigan

Not the way I imagined it ending but that’s life.

Those are the words of an emotional Zimbabwe international Tendayi Darikwa as he left English Championship strugglers Nottingham Forest for League One strugglers Wigan Athletic.

Darikwa has signed a short term deal with Wigan that takes him to the end of the season.

He had not featured for Forest this season and said on his Twitter account,

From a young age I wanted to play for this football club. I’m thankful and grateful for the opportunity to do that. Not the way I imagined it ending but that’s life. Thank you to everyone for the love and support during my time here, especially through last season’s injury.”
