Cremer picked to play in Caribbean Premier League

Zimbabwe national cricket team skipper Graeme Cremer has been snapped up by the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots for this season’s Caribbean Premier League Twenty 20.

Graeme Cremer

He is the only Zimbabwean snapped up in the recent draft and will be in the same team as Windies powerhouses Chris Gayle and Evin Lewis both of whom he might face in the current ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2018 in Zimbabwe. Cremer was fetched for $7,500.

Kieron Pollard was the biggest transfer while Gayle, Andre Russell, Dwayne Bravo and Sohail Tanvir, were paid the maximum price of US$160,000 by their franchises.

The CPL runs from 8 August to 30 September and features six teams, Guyana Amazon Warriors, Barbados Tridents, St Lucia Stars, St Kitts & Nevis Patriots Jamaica Tallawahs and Trinbago Knight Riders. The last two are the most successful in the history of the tournament with the Knight Riders the current holders.
