Could Raza be skipping the Aussie-Pakistan T20I tri-series after this?

Star Zimbabwe Cricket batsman Sikandar Raza may have confirmed his unavailability for selection for the upcoming T20I triangular series involving Australia and Pakistan at Harare Sports Club.

Raza has been playing club cricket in England over the last few weeks and has also been picked by the Montreal Tigers in the Canada Global T20 draft.

That tournament runs from 28 June to 15 July which will clash for the tri-series in Harare. The tri-series runs from 1 to 8 July 2018.

An article on Cricbuzz written by Tristan Holme, Raza has opted to play in the Canada Global T20 but has made himself available for the one day international series against Pakistan in Bulawayo straight after that.

The situation around his availability has been influenced by the ongoing impasse between a certain section of players in the team and the board over salaries and other payments.

Now Raza, who is active on social media has retweeted, Holmes’s tweet which had the link to the article on Cricbuzz.

Now Raza rarely retweets links and you will have to go back as far as March for the last time he retweeted an article.

The significance may not be as big as we are making it out to be but the player is back in Zimbabwe on Monday 18 June 2018. The article says he will meet the interim Convener of Selectors Walter Chawaguta and interim coach Lalchand Rajput to discuss the ODI availability.

A source from Zimbabwe Cricket who refused to go on record however says Raza is fully expected to take part in the T20I series.

With the way things have gone in the past week at ZC, who knows?
