When Dr Philip Chiyangwa decided to run for the presidency of the Zimbabwe Football Association he had more doubters than backers.
After all, he has had one of those profiles that do not really get many feeling like he was the man for the job. A man known for flamboyance and taking selfies after all, suddenly walking the corridors of power and having conversations over the biggest sport in the country sounded like a reach.
A month into his reign the man has made some serious moves and it is feel-good season at Livingstone house.
It might be a honeymoon season – peppered by the tiff over Pasuwagate – but in essence he has delivered pretty quickly on promises.
So far Chiyangwa has settled the bill owed for the longest to coach Kalisto Pasuwa and with benefactor Wicknel Chivayo will supply the Warriors gaffer with a car.
Add to that the fact that the Warriors in camp for the CHAN tournament have been given their allowances and assured that they will be taken care of.
There is also movement on the Tom Sainfiet debt
After the horror of last year that was the least you could ask for.
It is still early days but if Chiyangwa can continued on the same path stabilising the came built on his Rebuild, Reposition, Restore manifesto then we could be in for some good times.
We sure do need those.
