Chicken Inn cry foul over goal cancelled for offside – video inside

Bulawayo outfit Chicken Inn have cried foul over a goal given offside, denying them a win against Caps United this weekend.

They have posted a video which shows a clearance in the Caps United side which clearly has one of their player significantly ahead of the Chicken Inn attacker, therefore playing him onside. There is also a possibility that two other Caps United players in defensive positions are playing the Chicken Inn player onside.

After that there is no phase in which the Chicken Inn players are ever offside.

Without evidence of where the Chicken Inn player was when his keeper launched the ball, it leaves this one up in the air. The argument could be against whether the Caps United player could have made that much ground if the Chicken Inn player was offside. It would be bit difficult to do so, because the Chicken Inn player is running towards the ball. If he had been facing away and then turning around then that would be different.

Also critical is that no Caps United player appeals for offside, and three were looking down the line which means if they believed he was offside, they would have raised their hand immediately.

But as we said, without the critical point of where the Chicken Inn player was, we can speculate. we have no idea what the Assistant Referee has seen because that is from where the Referee gets his decision.

Our feeling is Chicken Inn should probably feel unlucky.
