Chatara shatters Dutch courage with ruthless five-for

Zimbabwean seam-bowler Tendai Chatara tour through the Netherlands top order as his maiden five-for set up a six wicket victory for the Chevrons in the first of three one day international cricket matches in Amsterdam.

Chatara returned figures of 5-34 off his 10 overs as he and Chris Mpofu accounted for the 8 wickets for just 40 runs.

Logan van Beek (64) and Timm van der Guggten (34) then put on an 86-run partnership to make the score respectable before they were bundled out for 142 inside 38 overs.

Zimbabwe looked to make quick work of a poor score but Solomon Mire early with the score on 8. At lunch Masakadza was gone too for 26 and at 42-2.

Craig Ervine (44) and Sikandar Raza (31) steered the match into control for the Chevrons and even with the loss of the former and Sean Williams there was still too much to do for the Netherlands.

The second match is on Thursday.
