Charlton Athletic turn down bid for Bonne

Charlton Athletic boss Lee Bowyer says his side has turned down a bid from a Championship Club for Zimbabwe international striker Macauley Bonne.

Bonne is a wanted man by multiple clubs but the Addicks are keen on keeping last season’s 11 goal striker as they take a shot at returning to England’s second tier at the first time of asking.

Bonne has taken the number 9 shirt and is himself committed to the League One side even though there is reported interest from Norwich City, Cardiff City, Fulham, Burnley, and Derby County among others.

While the one bid has been rejected, more are believed to be on their way.
