CAPS United removes Chitembwe, to announce new set-up

CAPS United have announced the removal of Lloyd Chitembwe as head coach of the team after a string of poor results.

The announcement was made by the team owner Farai Jere in Harare.

Chitembwe will however move to the position of Technical Director at the club.

One of the changes will see Zambian Ian Bakala who once played for CAPS United. He comes in as an assistant coach.

The head coach will be announced on Thursday.

Jere said the negative sentiment from fans also pushed the club to make the decision. He said while his team was playing well, the results were not coming.

“It is a very difficult decision, but it has to be made,” Jere added.

The Harare giants have won two of their 10 matches, with six losses. That sees them languishing in the relegation zone.
