Former Zimbabwe cricket captain Brendan Taylor has been relegated from the county first division after a five wicket loss to championship chasing Middlesex on Friday.
Taylor put 30 and 17 in the penultimate match of the season meaning Notts move to second division for the first time in nine years. They registered only one win this season.
It was a difficult second season for Taylor who registered only one half century during the campaign.
While the relegation is not the same as association football’s Premier League financially, it is what director of coaching Mick Newell called ’embarrassing’.
