Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez has been banned for biting Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini.
He will be banned for 9 official games for Uruguay and four months from all footballing activity. That means he will not play for Liverpool or any club he joins anytime soon. He is not allowed to even attend any stadium during this ban.
On top of that he will be fined GBP65,000. That is about 4 days’ wage for him.
He will only be able to appeal the fine and even if he goes to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, he will remain banned while he carries on his appeal.
Unprecedented.
