Zimbabwe star pace bowler Blessing Muzarabani has been called up to join Indian Premier League (IPL) side Lucknow Super Giants.
He comes in as a replacement for English bowler Mark Wood.
Muzarabani has joined compatriot Andy Flower who is also his coach at Pakistan Super League (PSL) side Multan Sultans.
The news was revealed by the Indian Embassy in Zimbabwe via a tweet which said, “Ambassador met with Mr Blessing Muzarabani, the Zimbabwean bowler, as he prepared to leave for #IPL2022. Ambassador wished him & his team #LucknowSuperGiants the very best.”
It would be curious to see how much of the IPL he takes part in as Zimbabwe are expected to gear up their preps for the T20 World Cup Qualifier which they will be hosting. Wisdom might mean he being allowed to play in the IPL as it poses a higher level of preparation for the star bowler.
