Australian cricketing legend Shane Warne has died, his management has confirmed.

Managements said he died of a suspected heart attack.

In a statement, his management said, “Shane was found unresponsive in his villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be saved.

“The family requires privacy at this time and will provide further details in due course.”

He was 52.

Warne ranks second with 708 wickets behind Sri Lanka’s Muttiah Muralitharan.

A big turner of the ball, the leg spinner delivered one of the best balls to English batsman Mike Gatting on 4 June 1993, the second day of the first Test of the 1993 Ashes series, at Old Trafford in Manchester.

He also took 293 One-Day International wickets and made more than 300 appearances for Australia across all formats.

In his last tweet, he mourned the loss of former Australian wicketkeeper Rod Marsh.
