Zimbabwe Football Association boss Philip Chiyangwa’s meteoric rise in African football continued as he was appointed chair of a new grouping of 31 associations on the continent.
The grouping comprises of members of the Council of Southern African Football Associations (which he is also president of), Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations as well as the Northern bloc.

The organisation will seek to collaborate on matters of technical development, by integrating many components of their activities for synergy and progress.
The new development effectively makes Chiyangwa the most powerful man in African football after CAF president Ahmad Ahmad.
