Madagascar FA chief Ahmad Ahmad has beaten Issa Hayatou in the Confederation of African Football elections on Thursday.
Ahmad won 34 of the 54 votes available to dislodge the man who has ruled African football with an iron fist since 2008.

Hayatou had often been re-elected unopposed but Ahmad offered a successful challenge which saw Zimbabwe Football Association, the latter’s campaign manager in a bitter war of words with the former.
The change will be seen as a breath of fresh air for African football.
