So the final European league matches (and the Zimbabwean league one too) were played this weekend.

The Zimbabwe ones saw the league end and the global north ones have taken a break until the Fifa World Cup kicks off in Qatar on Sunday 20 November 2022.

And so, well, the question is, what does one do meanwhile? Fear not. We got you.

Take up knitting

We went with this one as the first because it is raining so going out can be a bit of an asking. It teaches patience and you get to make a cardigan or non-politicaly-party-aligned (or politically aligned) scarf to give as Christmas present at the end of the year.

Follow Elon Musk’s tweets

Elon Musk feels like Donald Trump all over again. The new Twitter owner tweets like a teenager and it gets exhausting. But it is so much fun because it sometimes has the fascination of watching a slow-moving car crash. It feels bad to watch but it also has your curiosity on steroids.

Grow a moustache for Movember

Specifically for the males. But also for he ladies, you can ask your paramours, friends and so forth to do that. It is for a good cause and it raises awareness around testicular cancer this month. And around men’s mental health. So it is a good thing.

Watch World Cup documentaries

So as you will know, DStv will be screening all 64 matches will be screened. And some will be on DStv. But if you have DStv or Showmax, you can watch loads of documentaries. The most recent and most exciting is Moment of the Truth. This 10-episode series recounts some of the most iconic moments of FIFA World Cup history, examining unforgettable, defining events through the lens of human endeavour, drawing from the world football body’s extensive back catalogue of footage dating to the first tournament in 1930. There are loads of other documentaries you can watch. Also you can listen to the latest episode of the DStv Pod below in which older people go against younger people in World Cup predictions

Also available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, and more.

Get drunk while watching a random movie

We often do our drink when the sport is on. Netflix and chill with wine doesn’t count. But imagine watching a movie and getting smashed. The commentary will be interesting and we are pretty sure you will have new insights about the movie. Imagine that. We are so gonna do this.

Do the keepie up challenge

DStv is running the DStv MaUps Challenge, where keepie uppies via skill, the most and exciting can get you winning. Decoders and subscriptions have already been won. Record yourself doing the Uppies and then post on your social media. Tag @DStvZimbabwe on Facebook and Twitter with the #DStvMaUpsChallenge and #WorldCupExperience hashtags. Good luck.
