2023 Afcon finals set for June/July dates

The Africa Cup of Nations 2023 will be held in the June/July date.

This is to ensure it does not clash with the European leagues. Many African players ply their trade in Europe.

Confederation of African Football’s acting Secretary-General Abdel Bah said:

As of today, the 2023 Nations Cup is planned for June/July because, to make it clear, in the regulations we have decided to play all Nations Cups in June/July.

The 2021 finals(moved to 2022 due to the Covid-19 pandemic) will be held in the old January/February dates as Cameroon, the host, will have hostile weather in the mid-year.
