SEVEN characteristics plus an odd one that gets you attracted to someone’s face

The face does tend to probably become the first port of call when it comes to attractiveness, given it is the first point of genuine interaction.

Science of course has been studying this subject and it appears there are particular reasons why we like a certain type of face and not another.

The last one is box-office WTF.

Symmetry: Scientific studies say that because evolution, humans tend to see symmetry as a sign of good health. And also good genes. Apparently this is important. That is Evolutionary Advantage theory.
Asymmetry: We know. Weird right? But a crooked smile is seen as attractive too. Otherwise women would not be throwing themselves at Clint Eastwood, would they?
Looking older: Ok you have no control over that. You can’t be 21 and suddenly look like George Clooney. But older looking gives the impression you’ve got it together.
Facial hair: Beard gang is now the in thing. But it was always so for the longest. Just because at a time, your favourite soccer players wanted to look like little boys, the average person was always about the beard. And not just madzibaba. But it is not just any beard. Heavy stubble is the way to go. By the way that 4-5mm.
Scars on your face: Sure we know, Scar from Lion King, didn’t exactly get the girl but science says scars work. Researchers took photos of 24 male and 24 female students and manipulated them to look like they had scars on their faces. Then, another 200 students were asked to rate how attractive the photos were, and whether they thought the person would be good for a short or long-term relationship. Men with scars were rated as more attractive for short-term relationships than men without scars. For women it made no difference. Don’t go scarring your face though…
Familiarity: Looks like the pickup line, Have I seen you somewhere before? or its not too distant cousin I’ve seen you somewhere before has a basis. We do tend to find people,who look familiar attractive.
Simplicity: So it turns out blokes fancy chicks with uncomplicated faces. Results from a study in France showed that overall, the faces the men found most attractive were “sparsely coded” — that means the ones that were symmetrical, more plain, and had no distinguishing features.
Looks like your parents: A bit eeeww but we do tend to get attracted and usually it is the opposite sex parent. And particular the features our parents had when we were born. These scientists.
