A late Mother’s Day message to the one who is yearning for a child

Nobody signs up for a 3am call from a defeated human sobbing uncontrollably as yet another Mother’s Day has approached and no double lines on the test and no visible bump.

It is extremely hard watching your peers do baby and me dates, baby showers and pregnant shoots while you continue to visit one specialist after the next waiting for some good news. “Lord all I need is one baby” but the problem with yearning like Hannah is that sometimes your prayers are not powerful enough and of course there is the absence of the man to do this life thing with you.

This is my love note to the women told they will never be mothers, to the women struggling to conceive and to the women that have lost their babies:

To you sister waiting for that visible bump, that first cry and to that first shoot, hold on sis. Our journey’s to motherhood are different and your story is still being written by the author who writes the best stories. Your journey to motherhood will be your favourite. I love you sis.
