The Citizen says the king told the Pongolo community that foreigners should ‘go home’  and not use the excuse that they helped SA during the liberation struggle to stay in the country to ‘inconvenience locals’.

He laid into government officials who he said shied away from the subject fearing loss of votes.

This statement comes on the backdrop of tensions between locals and foreign business owners.

A statement like that coming from an office that prominent will not help the situation. If irresponsible statements of that sort are made from there, imagine what the masses on the ground will be up to.

And it was not ass if it was off the cuff and he got carried away. According the newspaper, this was from a prepared speech.

Not a good look, King Zwelithini!
