Zimbabwe has been removed from the United Nations (UN) Hunger Hotspot list.
As part of its statement, it said, “Ethiopia, Kenya, Lebanon, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Zambia, and Zimbabwe have been removed from the Hunger Hotspots list.”
The UN said so as it released its joint Food Agricultural Organization (FAO) and World Food Programme (WFP) early warning report for the June to October 2025 outlook.
The report says the change in classification is due to improved climatic conditions.
It did however added a warning.
“Although these countries are no longer considered hotspots for the outlook period, future climatic shifts could lead to their reclassification.”
