WATCH: Zimbabwe speaks on deportees from UK

Zimbabwe’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Frederick Shava has spoken on the deportees from the UK, amid activism to have them halted.

The UK will send a total of 150 Zimbabweans back to the Southern African nation, 50 of whom arrive on 22 July 2021.

Activists have called the move cruel as some of those who will be deported have spent decades in that country. Others fear persecution in Zimbabwe.

Shava said any who did not have criminal cases pending need not fear ‘persecution’.
