Update on transport regulations under level 2 lockdown with Zupco buses to carry more passengers

Zimbabwe has given an important update on the transport regulations under level 2 lockdown.

The new regulations will see the heavily burdened Zimbabwe United Passenger Company (Zupco) carry significantly more people than they do now. The number has was not made available. This is a step in order to ease the woes faced by the public.

Commuter Omnibus owners with roadworthy vehicles have again been invited to operate under the Zupco banner.

The government also moved to come down on truck drivers carrying passengers when they are not meant to.

The announcement was made at Post Cabinet Briefing in Harare.

Zimbabwe is under an indefinite level 2 lockdown.
