It emerged last night that the Chitungwiza blast was not caused by lightning and is now being investigated as a bomb.
Chitungwiza hospital said that all the survivors had soft tissue injuries and no burns. Burns would be consistent with lightning.
The story took another twist as it emerged that the two unidentified men who had died were an ex-cop and a man linked to the military.
How the trigger happened is still unclear but the situation is being treated as one of ‘national security’.
