These areas in Harare will have no power Wednesday

The Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (Zetdc) has announced a planned interruption of power supply in Harare.

This, the company says will happen on Wednesday 18 August between 06.00hrs and 18.00hrs for ‘critical maintenance work.’

These are the areas:

  • Glenlorne, parts of Umwinsdale and New March Farm: Worpleston, Birkdale, Ashdown, Lytham, Glen Helen, Glen Lorne Drive, Jaunty, Folyjon, Gainesville, Highland Glen and Carrick Creagh.
  • Greengrove, David road, St Malo road, Wilson road, Cavan lane, Chalkmead road, parts of Silverton, George avenue, Harrow road and Mutare road, Letombo pumps, ZIMDEF management, CI distributors, Doon estate, IMCO and Fort Concrete Msasa.

That said, Harare residents and indeed those from other towns and cities, have seen an increase in power cuts over the last few months.
