‘Resurrected Singer’ Taken In For Questioning

The person claiming to be the late multi-award winning South African maskandi artist Khulekani Kwakhe “Mgqumeni” Khumalo was yesterday arrested in Nquthu near Newcastle, northern KwaZulu-Natal and taken in for questioning, reports say.

Said police spokesperson Colonel Jay Naicker said.

Police opened an inquest docket and we took the man in for questioning yesterday [Sunday],We have not done DNA tests or taken his fingerprints, but will be taking some samples to verify whether it is him or not. Detectives from the province will head the investigation.

The story has gripped South Africa since it broke on Thursday. His customary wife and members of his family claim that it is him while skeptics think this is scam. Some news sites such as the Sowetan have already said that he has been taken in on charges of impersonation.

If true, he will have a lot of questions to answer. We certainly have a lot of questions to ask him.

All we know is that there is a lot of confusion right now.
