A 30-year-old Nyanga man aged 30 was convicted of domestic violence by a Nyanga Magistrate after assaulting his mother, the National Prosecuting Authority is reporting.
On the 23rd of June 2024, the complainant heard the accused person’s wife screaming and proceeded to go and find out what was happening.
Upon entering the wife’s she found the accused person assaulting her.
While trying to rescue the woman, her son, the husband, started hitting her with clenched fists on the head accusing her of involvement in his wife’s extra-marital affairs.
The complainant ran out of the house to protect herself from further assault.
The accused person was arrested after a police report.
He was convicted and sentenced to 3 months imprisonment wholly suspended on condition that he perform 105 hours of community service.
