The Zimbabwe Electricity Distribution Company has advised of an increase in load shedding.
The reason apparently is that demand has gone up.
Load shedding has increased outside the published schedule due to a huge rise in demand in excess of 1800MW against low generation. A bigger unit is expected into service during the peak period and this will provide some relief.
There has been no explanation for the increase in demand given we have been in winter or the longest so it can’t be sudden winter.
Anyway, who knows. Probably means 24 hours for some.
