The man believed to have run over and killed Canada-based Zimbabwean student Munyaradzi Sithole has been arrested.
A 33 year-old man, Owen Thompson, will face charges of failing to to stop at the scene of an accident after he hit Sithole, 31 on early Saturday morning.
The University of Waterlook student was celebrating his 31st birthday with friends. When paramedics got to the scene at 5am in the morning he showed no vital signs and he was rushed to hospital where he died from his injuries.
A Gofundme campaign is under way to repatriate his body and give him a decent funeral is underway. It has so far raised just over $20,000. Between 25 and 30 thousand is needed. To help, click here.
