A 66 year-old Hong Kong man, who visited a doctor after complaining about a swollen stomach has been told he is a woman – at least biologically.
The man who has always been raised as a man found out he had an benign ovarian cyst. He was diagnosed with Turner’s syndrome. This is when sex chromosomes fail to separate at embryo stage, resulting in an incomplete or missing X chromosome of which women have two. It affects 1 in every 2,000 baby girls.
The man is now going to be given male hormone treatment.
He is about 134cm tall, has a micro-penis and no testicles. He has a beard and says he has a history of urinal leakage. Because the patient has congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH), he has the appearance of a man.
Imagine that. Finding that out at 66. Like, that is all your life living as someone else.
So technically, if he hooked up with women, he is a lesbian then. Oh shoosh 3-mob!
