Magaya accuser wants to withdraw case over death threats

The woman accusing Prophetic Healing and Deliverance Ministries leader Walter Magaya of rape has apparently filed papers to have the case withdrawn.

She says she fears for her life following death threats made by unknown people who have threatened her life if Magaya is not convicted.

However, Magistrate Vakai Chikwekwe did not have the withdrawal affidavit placed on record  because it was tendered unproceduraly. The magistrate said the papers had The investigating officer has confirmed that the woman had approached the police with intent to withdraw the case.

Meanwhile, Magaya’s lawyers want the case dropped after the state again failed to furnish their client with a trial date.

The case has been remanded to 30 November 2016.
