Kenyan man sues over burst condoms

A Kenyan man has filed a lawsuit against a pharmaceutical company Beta Healthcare, the Kenya Revenue Authority and the Kenya Bureau of Standards, after he contracted a sexually transmitted infection (STI) when a condom he was using burst.

In his petition quoted in The Star, he said:

That I was fully aware of the dangers of having unprotected sex and decided to use my favourite brand of condoms being the Zoom scented chocolate flavoured studded condoms which I believed would please the woman and protect me fully.

He says his wife left him after the condom burst during a sexual encounter which resulted in him infecting her with an STI.

…My wife called and informed me that she had been admitted with an STI. My wife blamed me for being unfaithful and our relationship was strained afterwards.”

My wife then became estranged and later left me for another man. After my wife left me, I became distressed burdened with guilt and even had a mental breakdown which led me to be an alcoholic and I lost my job.

And when his friends told him they had had the same problems with said brand, he decided to sue.

Of course, we have to ask. Where did he get the STI from?
