In a swiveling turn on the tip toe including a double pirouette ending with a curtsy, the government has said that jerry cans are not banned after all.
Joram Gumbo, the Minister of Energy and Power Development said as much in a press statement on Thursday acknowledging that there were ‘genuine cases of legitimate customers that include command agriculture and other farmers, owners of grinding mills, schools and hospital that require fuel for generators and other uses’.
Gumbo said however that he was aware of cases of people who were putting fuel in containers for hoarding fuel either for resale or future personal use’.
He added that hoarding was illegal because of the harzadous nature of the substance.
Oh well.
