IN PICS: Magaya’s PHD, Tourism Ministry clean up Harare

Walter Magaya’s PHD Ministries on Saturday engaged in a clean up of Harare’s central business district.

They were joined by Environment, Tourism & Hospitality Industry Minister Priscah Mupfumira as well as Harare Mayor Herbert Gomba.

Speaking at the event’s starting point (Harare Freedom Square) Mupfumira said government was committed to leading the Waste Management awareness campaigns. She also called for collaboration and encouraged Stakeholders participation, saying this was everyone’s responsibility. Government would soon launch a national Clean Up program dubbed the “Clean Cities Campaign”. This will soon be launched soon by President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

The cleanup began at 11am and ran until 4pm. The focus has been CBD mainly, downtown Copa Cabana and 4th Street Rank.
