High Court Halts Chief’s Pursuit Of Tsvangirai

The High Court on Wednesday a decision by Chief Negomo to fine Prime Minister Tsvangirai for having allegedly married in November.

Tsvangirai’s defence was that he had only paid damages after having impregnated Lorcadiah Karimatsenga. Her family says otherwise. She has since reportedly suffered a miscarriage while the PM has gotten engaged to another woman Elizabeth Macheka.

The judgement was by default.

In Shona culture it is considered taboo to marry in November.
