Harare Mayor speaks on Mbare Musika fire

Harare mayor Jacob Mafume spoke Wednesday morning after a fire ravaged the Mbare Musika market.

He said:

At the Mbare Retail market .The fire brigade spent the whole night fighting the fires .The fires have been contained are not spreading. A lot of wares have been lost .The vegetable market has become a market of all sorts of wares and plastics have worsened the situation. The market had a lot of wooden structures as well.The looting and blocking of services vehicles did not help matters .The ZRP and Municipal Police had to step in. As always the Community Group provided water tankers. The fire will take a bit of time to put out.
