Harare closes water over shortage of chemicals

The City of Harare says it has been forced to cut water because of an ‘unprecedented’ shortage of chemicals.

Yep. That happened.

The City Fathers said, “Council wishes to advise residents and all stakeholders  that due to unprecedented  chemical supply challenges, Morton Jaffray Water treatment plant will be temporarily shutdown for a least 48 hours commencing last night.”

“They also said, “There will be disruptions in water supplies while modalities are being worked to restore normal services within the indicated period. We apologise for the inconvenience caused during the unplanned shutdown as all efforts are being made to revert to normal service schedules.”

Our thoughts:

Well of course it is messed up. But they could have told people that this was happening in advance and not after the fact. That allows people to plan their lives correctly. It’s a mess and for a capital city to be going through things like this it is a mess.

It really is ridiculous.
