Zimbabwe’s government has announced a waiver of fees for the current mobile civil registration blitz.

It has also relaxed the conditions to be met for one to be registered in the exercise which runs from 1 April to 30 September 2022.

The civil registration documents being targeted are birth certificates, death certificates, national identity documents and livestock brand certificates. They will all be issued at no cost.

As to relaxation of registration requirements. Provincial and District Registrars together with team leaders have been instructed to attend to every person and ensure that they are offered the services they require.

The announcement was made by the Ministry of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage.
