Registrar General Tobaiwa Mudede has finally been retired after holding the office for a whole… 37 years.
The man who oversaw the registration of pretty much most of Zimbabwe today will now have to find other fun things to do with his life.
Others being retired are Ngoni Masoka, Partson Mbiriri, Joey Bimha, Boniface Chidyausiku, Kelebert Nkomani, Ethel Mlalazi, Anne Knuth and Valentine Vera.
Cabinet Secretary Misheck Sibanda announced the news on Wednesday.
Mudede is of course the blockbuster figure in all of this having at the helm of the public touchpoint office for so long and the target of ridicule of those who didn’t fancy him too much.
At 74, well, he’s had his fun as an administrator.
