Girls outshine boys in latest Grade 7 results

Data revealed by the Zimbabwe School Examinations Council has shown that girls performed better than boys significantly in the 2021 grade 7 tests.

The general pass rate went up from 37.11 percent to 41.13 percent.

When it was split, girls had a pass rate of 44.55 percent, while boys were as low as 37.48 percent.

Of the 325,573 students who sat for exams, 51.31 percent were female and 48.68 percent were male.

Also revealed was that indigenous languages received the highest pass rates.

While most other students go back to school this Monday, those moving to Form 1 will join other students on 14 February 2022.
