A fire has razed the Glen View 8 home industries complex in another blow for the informal sector in Zimbabwe.
Property worth hundreds of thousands of dollars is believed to have been destroyed at the Harare complex.
Early on it was suspected that it was caused by a fire started at the guard house where the person on duty left a candle on when he went to do his rounds.
However there is also suspicion of arson to cover a robbery which would be more sinister.
It’s pretty awful. They probably won’t have insurance (not many can afford it really) which means it is all gone, a real disaster.
