Beleaguered former Premier Service Medical Aid Society CEO Cuthbert Dube received about half a million dollars a month as opposed to the $230,000 reported according to The Herald.
It is reported that he received in a total about $6.4 million per annum which included a bonus of $1 million.
Cop this, the medical aid society paid S$18,6 million to the top 15 executives. Quoted in there are instances of some executives school fees of up to $48,000 per year which has now been reduced to $6,000. Pretty sure one fella on that board from that benefit could educate a few rural schools for a year.
Meanwhile PSMAS says its debt is now $13.9 mil from $38 milliom. That will be cleared after January contributions are made, it says.
Well that was fast.
When you really think of it, did we jump the gun a bit? Sure those salaries are bit crazy but if the company makes close $80 million and covering its debts so swiftly then they must be up to something. They do have a strong membership of which government is about 30% so they have a plan that seems to be working.
Let’s see how this goes.
