It would appear as if one way to get a Zimbabwean really pissed off is to say that the Victoria Falls is in South Africa.
In an article published on Tuesday Nila Sweeney went down that route. Like proper went down that route.
She wrote this:
To put that in perspective, Iguazu Falls is nearly twice as tall as Niagara Falls and rivaled only by South Africa’s Victoria Falls, which is taller at 108 meters.
Of course this pissed off a lot of people with some tagging Sweeney on social media and asking her to correct it. Joe Black of course would be chief among those.
What the fuck, @CNN @CNNTravel. Why does this still say "South Africa's Victoria Falls"? http://t.co/uKN7xrB6AA @nilasweeney fix your shit

But how did it get onto CNN is what we would like to know?
Is it because they can’t be bothered to fact-check?
Yes we know South African tour operators packages the Falls as part of an itinerary for visiting the region but how dumb ‘or perhaps flippant do you have to be to think that they are from the same country.
Absolutely and incredibly ridiculous. Both for Sweeney and the person who authorised the publication of that ridiculous aberration.
Not that they care.
