China donates 200,000 more Covid-19 vaccines to Zimbabwe

China will donate a further 200,000 doses of its Sinovac Covid-19 vaccine to Zimbabwe, it has been confirmed.

This is on top of the 200,000 doses already being distributed as well as another 1.8million doses Zimbabwe will buy. 600,000 doses are excepted to arrive in the first week of March 2021.

Zimbabwe started its inoculation programme on the 18th of February with the aim of targeting 10 million of its citizens.

This as part of a phased programme starting with frontline workers.

Zimbabwe is currently under an extended adjusted level four lockdown which runs until 1 March 2021.
