A bomb blast has claimed one person in the Harare suburb of Sunningdale.
State media reported that this happened around 5 pm on Monday evening when people were trying to extract the sought after red mercury from a landmine.
It is believed the explosion took place when they opened the landimine.
Three men are said to have brought the landmine to Sunningdale after failing to get any luck – or bad luck – getting someone to deal with them from Mbare and Graniteside.
