All appointments until March canceled, to be revised – Zim Consulate in Johannesburg

The Zimbabwe consulate in Johannesburg has said that all appointments until late March have been cancelled and people should not visit the embassy without a revised appointment date.

In a statement, it said:

Be advised that ALL appointments which had been scheduled for the period 4 January to 26 March 2021 were canceled following the movement to Adjusted Lockdown Arlet Level Three. In this regard, please IGNORE all the automated reminders that are linked to the original appointments.

Individuals should expect to receive new appointment dates via the email used to book the original appointment as and when the operating environment permits. Broadly, we will continue to follow the direction given by the host government.

It is therefore NOT advisable to visit the Consulate before receiving the revised appointment date because no service will be extended to such individuals. Note that all new appointments were temporarily suspended as we strive to offer service to those with existing appointments.

Individuals, responding to the post on social media, bemoaned the fact that they were either receiving cancellations with not new date or no updates at all. This has left many unsure as to what to do.

South Africa is under an adjusted lockdwn alert level as it wrestles massive numbers in Covid-19 infections.
