8 January 2021: 985 new Covid-19 cases, 22 deaths

Harare continued its upward trajectory in Covid-19 as it notched up 401 of the 985 Covid-19 cases in Zimbabwe according to the latest data provided by the Ministry of Health and Child Care.

One case was of a returnee from Zambia while the rest were local cases in the country.

22 deaths (Six in Manicaland and five in Harare) were recorded on Friday with 101 recoveries (45 in Manicaland, 33 in Bulawayo and 0 in Harare).

As at 08 January 2021, Zimbabwe had 19 660 confirmed cases, including 12 184 recoveries and 468 deaths.

Zimbabwe is currently under a 30-day lockdown with curfew and stay-at-home orders
