Zimbabwe’s deaths from Covid-19 passed the 1,000 mark even as new cases continued to drop according to data released by the Ministry of Health and Child Care on Sunday.
The 31 deaths recorded took the overall tally to 1,005. 20 of those deaths from Harare were reported retrospectively.
The number of new cases went down to 313, 157 of which came from Harare.
With 873 new recoveries reported, the number of active cases dropped down to 8,065.
As at 24 January 2021, Zimbabwe had 31 320 confirmed cases, including 22 250 recoveries and 1 005 deaths.
Zimbabwe is currently under a 30-day level 4 lockdown with curfews and stay-at-home orders.
